Suomenlinna is a World Heritage Site

Suomenlinna is a maritime fortress located off the coast of Helsinki. It is also a garrison town and a base for archipelago navy. The construction of the fortress began in 1748. Today Suomenlinna is included in UNESCO's list of World Heritage sites and is one of the most popular sights in Finland.

Guided Walking Tours 01.09.2010

The historic fortress wakes up at the guided walking tour. The secrets of the fortification walls will be revealed and old memories from the times of Swedish rule in the 18th century and Russian rule in the 19th century tell us about the life at the fortress in peace and at war.
