Hire of conference and banqueting facilities

Suomenlinna is a popular venue for conferences and celebrations. The sales service for the Governing Body’s conference and banquet facilities hires out nine conference and banqueting rooms of various sizes and types.

The conference and banqueting facilities at Suomenlinna are open throughout the year. Some 650 events were organised in these venues in 2009. Suomenlinna Church is one of the most popular wedding churches in Helsinki, and about one third of the events organised in Suomenlinna are weddings. The peak periods for room hire are from April to Midsummer and from the beginning of August to the end of October. Winter use of the facilities is becoming increasingly popular each year.  In addition to the conference and banqueting facilities managed by the Governing Body, many restaurants and the Suomenlinnan Upseerikerho officers' club also organise various events.

The conference and banqueting facilities sales service actively collects customer feedback. All room hire customers receive an electronic feedback form to complete after the event. Feedback from customers helps to improve the activities and facilities of Suomenlinna, and enables monitoring of the quality of the fortress as an attraction.

In 2008–2009 the Governing Body of Suomenlinna took part in QUALITY 1000 training organised by Haaga-Perho educational services. The aim of this training was to improve the professionalism, customer satisfaction and staff job satisfaction of travel business operators in the area.
