Events

Many high-quality events take place in Suomenlinna every year. In the middle of the summer, historical costumes can be admired in the Les Lumières festival, and the open-air theatre offers unforgettable experiences. In August, the Viapori Jazz festival is organised in the fortress. Battle scenes from the historical military camp are recreated in September. In October, it is time for Väkevä Viapori, the residents’ festival. The highlight of the winter season is the Arts & Crafts weekend, organised in the spirit of Christmas.

Guided Walking Tours

Description	A tour of the fortress provides insight into the colourful past of Suomenlinna. In the wintertime tours are organised only at weekends (Sat, Sun) at 1.30 p.m. These daily tours start at the Visitor Centre and take about an hour. Guided tours in several languages may be booked throughout the year. Tours are arranged by the Ehrensvärd Society.
Tickets	Adults 7 €, children 3 €. Free entrance with Helsinki Card.

Did you know?

The historical military camp of the 1700s takes over Suomenlinna in September. Several drill and combat shows are staged during the event. Guided walking tours are also offered.

The audience has the opportunity to ask military history enthusiasts questions related to military careers, skills and problems.
