Visitor Centre
The Visitor Centre staff are happy to give you information on places of interest and open restaurants and cafés.
Suomenlinna brochures are available at the Visitor Centre. They are published in Finnish, Swedish, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. The brochure includes a map of the fortress.
You can also buy books, postcards and gifts. All guided tours commence at the Visitor Centre. The centre has a coffee vending machine and toilet facilities.
The building also houses the Suomenlinna Museum. The widescreen show Suomenlinna Experience is shown in the museum auditorium.

How to get there
The Helsinki City Transport ferry operates throughout the year. The Visitor Centre is about 500 metres (0.3 miles) from the main pier. The waterbus stops at the Visitor Centre pier during summer.
Accessibility
The Visitor Centre is located along the wheelchair route. The centre was designed with accessibility in mind. The main entrance to the building is not completely level, but it is equipped with a ramp. The front of the building is paved and benches are provided.
Exhibitions are staged on the ground and first floors. The first floor can be accessed by lift from the centre’s offices. The lift is equipped with automatic sliding doors. The museum auditorium is accessible and the building also has accessible toilet facilities.
